Fun for the whole family, the Stick-Horse Rodeo is an event where every child is a winner! Open to children ages 6 and under, this crowd-favorite activity features two events — a riding event and a roping event. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m., and each young contestant receives an official entry number pinned to their back just like real rodeo cowboys and cowgirls.
With the help of the Rodeo Queen, children of all ages — even the littlest participants — make their way through the riding pattern on their trusty stick-horses. While stick-horses are provided, many riders proudly bring their own favorite horse from home!
In the roping event, contestants test their cowboy skills by tossing a lariat over a plastic sheep’s head mounted on a bale of hay. Once the loop is tightened, the “beast” is officially captured! Every participant is rewarded with ribbons, candy, hugs, and the chance to meet the Rodeo Queen during a special photo and autograph session.
Bring the entire family to enjoy this heartwarming event as children learn about rodeo traditions, build coordination and confidence, and most importantly — have a great time!
